Some of us struggle every day with differing degrees of change. Some of you may have changed your diet recently and are struggling to look away from the dessert cart after dinner. Maybe you just started a new workout routine and you’re trying to make sure you make it to the gym on all of the days you’ve committed to be there. It may take a while for your new routine to become habit, but you won’t ever get there until you commit to find your new normal.
The reason I bring all of this up is because I’m really struggling to find my new normal lately. I’ve tried multiple routines hoping that they’d stick, but I feel like each day is different and complicated. Maybe it’s the reckless abandon that comes with summer and the kids being out of school. Maybe it’s being in a new community and still trying to find our bearings on where we are and where we are going.
Today, my hope is to establish a new routine for us. Granted we are about to go out of town for the 4th of July and not be back until Tuesday and we’ll have to start all over again, but still…we have to start somewhere, right?
