I have been doing a lot of writing lately. It’s a creative outlet I have been pursuing for more than a year now. I have a written a self-help type devotional book and I often find myself asking the question: “Who do you think you are? Writing a book. You are not a writer. You don’t even know what you’re doing!”
To this voice, I take a deep breath and politely say, “I may not know everything there is to know about writing or I may not be doing everything perfectly by the book, but I’m telling my story. I’m showing up every day and I’m trying.” The voice usually doesn’t respond with that kind of mic-drop worthy response.
Friends, I encourage you today to do what you feel led to do. Here is your permission slip to try something new and see where it leads you.
And tell that voice that you hear… “Go bother someone else!”
